What is Personal Information?
Personal Information includes any factual or subjective information, recorded or not, about an identifiable individual. This includes information in any form such as a person’s e-mail address, credit card numbers and home address. It does not include the name, title or business address or telephone number or e-mail address of an employee of an organization.
Who is responsible for protecting the Personal Information collected, used and disclosed by Foodcareers?
The President of ISEKI-Food Association is the Privacy Officer.
Why does Foodcareers collect Personal Information?
Foodcareers is committed to providing its members with quality professional development opportunities, excellent networking events, make them be a part of a wider-food career community by joining one of the community groups on our site and guide them in creating a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Portfolio which can help them in next jobs and/or positions. One of Foodcareers aims is to develop an European certification scheme for careers of professionals in the food sector, which proves that the individual registered professional, has the required skills and competences for a particular job anywhere in Europe. The assessment of the CPD portfolio forms part of the process for certification.
Foodcareers’s use of Personal Information is limited to these purposes or is consistent with them. Foodcareers does not sell, trade, barter, exchange or disclose for consideration any Personal Information it has obtained. Personal Information about Members will be collected, to the extent possible, directly from the individual concerned.
The foodcareers.eu website will store your email address and a unique key associated with your password within a cookie on your computer should you choose to use the “Keep me logged in” option. There is no way to determine the original password from the unique key that is being stored. All information stored in the cookie is obfuscated to ensure that somebody simply viewing the cookie cannot determine the information readily.
How do individuals provide Foodcareers with their consent for the collection, use and disclosure of their Personal Information?
When clients contact Foodcareers, they may provide their Personal Information expressly through a registration process. This information is added to the Foodcareers database.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time, upon reasonable, advance notice, by contacting Foodcareers’s Privacy Officer who will ensure that the individual’s Personal Information is no longer used or disclosed by the organization. If this information have already been submitted and the registered member would like to remove it from the Foodcareer records, please contact the Privacy Officer by telephone, by email or in writing at the address listed at the bottom of this Policy. Reasonable efforts will be made to delete the information in a timely fashion from the existing files unless required by law to maintain the information. Please note that certain services can only be offered if a person provides Personal Information to Foodcareers and, consequently, if a registered member chooses not to provide the required Personal Information, it may be the possibility that Foodcareers will not be able to offer the services requested.
How does Foodcareers protect Personal Information?
Foodcareers is committed to ensuring that Personal Information is protected from unauthorized access, unintended disclosures or theft. This protection is provided by maintaining adequate physical, procedural and technical security with respect to its offices and information storage facilities, including the use of firewalls in the computer system, passwords to protect databases, locked filing cabinets. Foodcareers restricts access to Personal Information to those employees we determine need to know that information in order that Foodcareers may provide its services. This also applies to our disposal or destruction of Personal Information.
Foodcareers may share Personal Information with external service providers in the course of their provision of services to Foodcareers. Foodcareers takes steps to ensure that its external service providers treat the information in accordance with this policy.
When does Foodcareers disclose Personal Information?
Foodcareers will generally only disclose Personal Information if the individual or organization to whom it is disclosed, agrees to use such Personal Information solely for the purposes for which it was provided and to protect the information using appropriate means of security.
Personal Information may also be subject to transfer to another organization in the event of a merger, sale of assets or change of corporate status of all or part of Foodcareers.
Foodcareers retains the right to use non-identifiable information in any ethical way that it determines appropriate.

Foodcareers only retains Personal Information for as long as is required to fulfil the purposes listed above.
Once this purpose has been fulfilled, Foodcareers destroys the information in a secure manner that protects the privacy of the individual to which the information relates.
How accurate is the Personal Information collected, used and disclosed by Foodcareers?
Foodcareers endeavours to ensure that any Personal Information in its possession is as accurate, current and complete as necessary for the purposes for which it uses that data.
How do individuals exercise their right to access and review their Personal Information?
Foodcareers recognizes an individual’s reasonable right to access and review his/her Personal Information held by us. Individuals registered in the Foodcareers database can also access their information at anytime by logging on to their Foodcareers Account at foodcareers.eu.
What are the specific policies with respect to the Foodcareers Websites?
All forms on our website are secured with a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate for data encryption and safeguard.
How do I know if my browser is secure? A change in the URL from http:// to https:// notifies you that you are using SSL. If the URL on a page asking you to provide Personal Information remains as http://, beware as this may result in an unsecure transmission.
